Hello Everyone! This is my first post here and my first Outfit of the day post as well. So recently Iscored quite a bit of the Beth Ditto for Evans collection pieces for half off on clearance and to give the stain glass prom dress a try I wore it to a family birthday at my home. I'm a 24/26 and even though some people feel bright colors on a person my size don't look good I love love bold colors and bold prints especially in the winner! More outfits and such at my blog www.fatshopaholic.blogspot.com
Hey Y'all!! Hope everyone is having a happy holiday season! I see SO many cute t-shirts here, and I've been building up my basics wardrobe fora while, and it seems like now my wardrobe could use some more pizzazz. Where do y'all get your t-shirts (other than thrift store scores) ? Torrid used to have a lot that i liked but they tend to be more band shirts and movie shirts rather than just cute graphic tees like they used to have. So what do y'all like? Where do you go for a fun, spunky, cute shirt? Do you have any other favorite ways to jazz up an outfit?
I'd love to hear your tips!

Hi Fatshionistas,
A friend of mine recently updated her facebook status "Sometimes I'm sitting next to people in a restaurant and I just want to point at what they're eating and say 'This is why you're fat.'".
I feel like this is a really teachable moment - but I'm stumped as to what exactly to say. So, fatshionistas, any suggestions on replying in a thoughtful, polite, but firm way? What are some general strategies in dealing with indirect fat-hate?
--edited to add---
I decided to go with the classic, and classy, "I'm sure you didn't mean this the way you sound" and she replied with a long explanation about how it is exactly how it sounds, and how she almost said that to someone at breakfast yesterday. When her husband chimed in with a comment about how "the fat girl who got defensive is the asshole" (me) I decided that I really just don't need people like that in my life.
Thanks to everyone for the advice.

hey there fashion fans! I need some advice. I have a super cute dark denim pencil skirt from old navy, and a cream colored t-shirt from gap outlet that has gold leaf roses all over it. I figure gold flats, navy tights, and a gold belt for acessories.
except i live in the northeast and it is flipping freezing out! So, what do I do for a top layer? Cardigan or blazer, and what color?
Any ideas would be appreciated.

I love the sale posts, but since I am on a fixed income, I tend not to have money by the time something I like comes along. So, I was wondering, where could I go IRL or online to get plus sized clothes for relatively cheap. I just can't afford to be spending $40 on a t-shirt at the places like Lane Bryant. I wear (depending on the fabric) either a 24/26 or a 26/28.
TIA!
TIA!
has anyone gotten these leggings from torrid:

i got mine in the mail today and i ordered a size 3 and they're huge! im a size 22-24 in jeans as of late and thought i'd need the 3 but now im thinking i might even be able to fit into a 1. anyone around my size have them? on the site the 1's are out so i really hope when i go to the store tomorrow (ew mall before christmas!!) that they'll have them. i cant stand when leggings arent skin tight so im thinking even 2 wont do it for me!
anyone else found some good plus size sequin leggings? i got some in a size L from wetseal and they fit but they slip down on my butt too much to be comfortable.

Well, I got my shipment of the sample sale today.
I was pretty pleased. I think most of it is going to be a little bit too small for me, but I really like the items.
I will post photos later, but I snagged 2 dresses (one maxi type and one long sleeved surplice - both really really long dresses), and 3 shirts (one silky trapeze style top that I REALLY like, a butterfly punk-ish top and a businessy looking black and white top).
For $26, including shipping, I am pretty happy with that!!!
Did anyone else get their shipment yet? I am curious to know how sizing went. I ended up with mostly 2X, which is ok, but I am more of a 3X.

I've lost some weight since living in japan and my size has changed. However, I'm definitely too chubs to go out and buy clothes in Japan. They have plus sized clothes here, but it's perhaps the most unflattering stuff I've ever seen. Anyhoo, I've noticed that some posters here wear size 18 american eagle. What's the fit like on their pants? They ship to Japan, but returning their clothes would be crazy expensive. So it needs to fit. I am about a size 18 in Old Navy pants at the moment, is the fit similar?
I was wondering if anyone could recommend a dress maker via Etsy or the sorts who is not only good, but could make a nice vintage inspired formal dress for me. I'm on the verge of inbetweenie (usually a size 12), and I have a good idea of what I want. It's just... I can't find it. And I figure I might as well look into getting one made for me.
Reccomendations and ideas would be much appreciated.

first trimester SUUUUUCKS. and i finally turned that corner and i'm wearing things other than leggings and sweaters (and no longer huddling under my blankets all day) so i dug out all the outfits i've worn the past few days and had a private little fashion show to share my recent purchases and combos.
( checky... )
and i want to give a shout out to JC Penny for carrying a pretty big line of PLUS SIZE maternity. i finally found the nursing tanks i've been coveting, they have nice jeans, the leggings are wonderful... now if they could just have them *in store* that would be awesome. however, they seem to have free shipping offers a lot and you can return in-store. (i also think they have ship to store, which is cheap or free, but i'm not 100% on that one)
